Blueberry crossed with Girl Scout Cookies GSC.

Blueberry is a mostly Indica (80% Indica, 20%Sativa) strain, that dates to the late 1970`s. A large producer under optimum conditions. A dense and stout plant with red, purple and finally blue hues, that usually cure to a lavender blue. The finished product has a very fruity aroma and taste of blueberry. It produces a notable and pleasantly euphoric high of the highest quality and is very long lasting. Medium to large calyxes. Blueberry has a long shelf life, stores well over a long period.

This 80/20 Indica-Sativa strain is a hybrid of Purple Thai and Afghan. This plant performs at it’s best outdoors, if proper techniques and fertilizer is utilized. If grown correctly, this strain produces high yields. To no one’s surprise, there is a sweet blueberry taste associated with this strain. The patient experiences a long-lasting and energetic sensation. While not known to make the patient drowsy, it still may not be the optimal daytime strain, as a reliable memory may not be expected while using Blueberry.

Much of the history behind Girl Scout Cookies is kept secret by its proprietors but it’s generally accepted that GSC originated as an F1 development of Durban Poison, bred out of Florida in the mid-90′s, and then brought to the world in 2010 (by the same group responsible for Cherry Pie).

Contrary to popular belief, there’s no actual direct genealogical relationship between Girl Scout Cookies and Cherry Pie, nor is there any Grand Daddy Purple in GSC’s lineage. Girl Scout Cookies’ rise to popularity hasn’t gone without controversy; the insatiable demand for strain has given rise to plenty of impostors and generic spin offs. Unfortunately, a lot of the Girl Scout Cookies currently being distributed by dispensaries in the bay (or anywhere else) is not in fact genuine GSC (although a lot of the fakes are impressive in their own right).

Girl Scout Cookies were released commercially to the Bay Area in 2010, by the same group that brought you Cherry Pie. The strain quickly proved to be successful, being mentioned in music and commanding higher prices. As its popularity grew, GSC also became the subject of confusion. Like many other popular and trendy strains, its name recognition was used for false advertising for marketing other, unrelated strains.

When 2 full boxes of Girl Scout Cookies arrived in British Columbia, BC Bud Depot knew what to do. The clone was fast becoming a legend – a potent mix of an OG Kush x Durban Poison x Cherry Kush mother backcrossed with a prime-looking OG Kush father created possibly one of the best Northern California strains of all time. After dedicating a number of mothers, BCBD immediately started growing these out to reverse and create the first feminized (S1) Girl Scout Cookies seeds released to the world.

Like many stoners, the Cookie Family have a sweet tooth, which is why their strains are all named after some sort of dessert — hence such varieties as Sherbert, and, of course, Girl Scout Cookies. Much speculation has been made as to the genetics of the GSC, and while the Family don’t want to give away the whole recipe, the basic deal is this. They had a variety that they referred to as the “F1.” Now, this was a nickname, not an indication of its hybridization status. They could have called it “Freddie,” but they called it the F1. “It’s our secret sauce — I won’t tell you the real name,” said Jigga. “It had this pissy funk and was one of the best strains around aside from the Kush. So the F1 was crossed with Durban Poison and stabilized, and then that strain was crossed with a Kush that itself is something of a legend.

“The Kush we had, the parent, originally was one of those local strains where you couldn’t get any cuts,” Jigga continued. “But we had access to those genetics — something that was brought to Southern California from Jacksonville, FL, from some Deadhead friend. Our friend brought it to San Francisco around 1994. It was known as ‘Kush’ until Snoop and B-Real started to name it ‘OG Kush’ — one of the dankest Kushes of all time.”
